Lucan Community College Celebrates Outstanding Leaving Certificate Results 2026

Lucan Community College is delighted to congratulate the Leaving Certificate Class of 2026 on a year of exceptional achievement, commitment and perseverance. The results reflect not only the hard work and dedication of our students, but also the unwavering support of their families and the commitment of our teaching and support staff throughout their educational journey.

This year, 152 students received Leaving Certificate results, representing one of the largest cohorts in the school’s history. Analysis of the results shows a highly successful year across a broad range of subject areas and student pathways. Based on the CAO points calculations completed from the official results data, students achieved an impressive range of outcomes, demonstrating both academic excellence and consistency across the year group.

Among the highlights:

• 152 candidates were included in the Leaving Certificate cohort.
• The Leaving Certificate results placed our students in line with, and in many cases significantly above the national averages.
• A significant number of students achieved results placing them competitively for entry to a wide variety of third-level programmes, apprenticeships and career pathways.

Principal Stephen Brett praised the students for their achievements:

They have embraced opportunities, overcome challenges including the impact of Covid-19 on their earlier post-primary experience. Our students today have demonstrated a commitment to learning that reflects the very best of Lucan Community College. We congratulate each and every student on their success and wish them every happiness and fulfilment in the next stage of their journey.”

The results also highlight the strength of the school’s inclusive educational approach. Students achieved excellent outcomes across a broad range of subjects including sciences, business, languages, engineering, technology, humanities, creative subjects and physical education, reflecting the diverse talents and interests of the student body.

As students now progress to higher education, further education, apprenticeships, employment and a variety of exciting opportunities, the entire school community joins in celebrating their achievements and wishing them continued success.

The Board of Management, staff and school community extend warm congratulations to all students who received results today and thank parents and guardians for their ongoing support and partnership.
