Information for Transition Year 2023-24

Transition Year Options in Lucan CC are a mix of LC tasters and TY experiences
Please enter your top 3 Leaving Cert Taster subjects in order (most wanted subject 1st, second most wanted subject 2nd etc.) for the first 3 option lines.
Then enter your top 4 Transition Year Experience Subjects in order (most wanted subject 1st, second most subject wanted 2nd etc.) for the next 3 option lines. *Students who select Drama/Dance/Music Performance from the Transition Year Experience subjects may have the opportunity to be part of a performance during the year. *

State Examination Fees Waived for 2023

The Government’s announcement on 21 February 2023, of a wide range of once-off measures to assist with increased cost of living pressures, includes the waiving of the 2023 Examination Entry Fees. Students sitting the examinations this year will not have to pay Examination Entry fees, which in 2019 were €116 and €109 for the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle examinations respectively.
Examinations Appeal Fees will be charged in 2023 at a rate of €40 per subject at Leaving Certificate (established); €14.50 per subject at LCA; and €32 per subject at Junior Cycle. This fee is refunded in the event of a successful appeal.

Junior Cycle Practical Examinations 2023

The JC Home Economics Practical Exams will take place on the following dates:

March 20th – 21st and April 17th – 21st

We are delighted to announce the winners of our Reading Week Poster Competition for 2023. The standard of talent and creativity was outstanding. Well done to everyone who entered a poster. The overall winners are Ellen Birnie (Junior) and Naoise Murphy (Senior). Congratulations!

Our Second Years are thoroughly enjoying their trip to Barcelona! Thanks to Ms McKelvey and the team of teachers who have travelled with over 140 second year students to give them this fantastic opportunity. @ddletb @LccAssoc

Ryan Lally from Grá Pizza ran a great workshop today on pizza making as part of a wellbeing promotion, and also talked about setting up your own business and all about buying good Irish ingredients. Staff and students were delighted with the pizzas! #wellbeing #buyIrish @ddletb
