1916 – 2016 Proclamation Day
Today our school prefect team read out on the PA system the ‘1916 Proclamation of Independence’ and raised the new tricolour on the outdoor and new indoor flag poles, presently recently to all schools by President Michael D Higgins.
Caroline Croke of 6th year briefly summarized her great grandfather’s and great granduncle’s role in the GPO who were volunteers during the Easter Rising and Mr Purcell mentioned his great-grand uncle, who was Captain of the Dublin Fire Brigade during the rising. The History Department of Lucan CC are looking for more stories of relatives who fought in or were around Dublin City centre during that period.

What a week for sport in Lucan Community College! Delighted to see our TY student Aoibhe Fleming take to the field today to represent Ireland in the Euro qualifier against Kosovo. Ireland won 3-0. ⚽️☘👏

Lucan Community College are through to the U16 football final after a resounding 3-18 to 0-12 points win against Scoil Chaitriona from Mobhi Road. Lucan CC will play Colaiste Eanna from Rathfarnham. Congrats to the squad and their management Mr Callaghan and Mr McGowan. @LccAssoc
