Mission

We, the educational partners (students, staff, parents/guardians) of Lucan Community College are committed to being an active learning community with sound educational principles, where each person is valued and respected for who they are.

Within a supportive, safe and friendly environment, we foster collaboration and promote equality and tolerance as preparation for life and involvement in society.

As a community, we provide a free and fair education through broad, balanced yet diverse curricular and co-curricular activities endeavouring to meet the needs of all. We encourage commitment through participation, coupled with the promotion of honesty, integrity, self-discipline and self-worth in everything we do, so that the full potential of all is developed.

Seo ráiteas misin ó na páirtnéirí oideachasúla i gColáiste Phobail Leamhcáin (na mic léinn, an fhoireann, na tuismitheoirí/caomhnóirí). Tá sé d’aidhm againn pobal gníomhach oideachais a chur chun cinn, bunaithe ar sháinluachanna oideachasúla. Cuirimid romhainn chomh maith meas agus  urraim a léiriú do gach ball den phobal seo.

Mar ullmhúchán don idirbheartaíocht atá roimh na daltaí sa saol mór lasmuigh den scoil sa todhchaí, cuirimis timpeallacht shábháilte, chairdiúil ar fáil a thabharfas tacaíocht do gach dalta. Tá tuiscint, comhionannas agus comhoibriú mar bhunchlocha de na luachanna gur mhaith linn a chleachtadh agus a fhorbairt.

Mar phobal, cuirimis oideachas saor in aisce ar fáil chomh maith le hoideachas cóir. Déanaimis é seo trí éagsúlacht gníomhaíochtaí curaclaim agus seach-churaclaim a chur ar fail, a fhreastalaíonn ar raon leathan gnéithe d’oideachas iomlán an duine, chun iarracht a dhéanamh freastal ar riachtanais dhifriúla na ndaltaí.

Cothaímis tiomantas trí rannpháirtíocht, i dteannta le cur chun cinn ionracais, macántachta agus féinmheasa i ngach rud a dtugaimid faoi, sa dóigh is go ndéantar freastal ar fhorbairt cách.
