Dear parent/guardian
A confirmed case of COVID-19 in Lucan Community College has been notified to the Department of Public Health HSE.
A public health risk assessment has been undertaken and the HSE has judged that due to the protocols in place and individual compliance with the guidelines, no students/staff are deemed to be close contacts of the confirmed case. We wish those affected a speedy and full recovery.
If you/your child develops any symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 infection (such as a cough, a fever, loss or change in sense of taste or smell), please do not send your child to school, contact your GP and begin restricting your child’s movements, as per public health advice.
Restricted movement means avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible. It is also sometimes called ‘self-quarantine’.
Further information on COVID-19 is available at: www.hse.ie
Please continue to follow all of the guidance provided by the HSE and the protocols in place in the school to ensure the safety of everyone in our school community. We are doing so well as a school community to ensure communication about health issues is available and transparent and we really appreciate the cooperation of the whole community in trying to ensure we can all have a healthy and enjoyable Christmas break.
On a happier note you can now view our Christmas message (Youtube Christmas Concert and Teams Live event powerpoint and Principal’s message) through the Quicklinks section of our home page (www.lucancc.ie)
