Barnardos and ETB Schools NPA Webinar

Barnardos and the ETB Schools National Parent’s Association have joined together to provide parents with a free webinar on Supporting Teenagers to have positive experiences online while taking responsibility for their ‘online footprint’”.  The webinar will take place on Wednesday 8th February from 7.30 – 8.30pm.

The aim of this webinar is to provide information for parents/guardians to help support their teenager as they navigate their life in an online world. This webinar will help parents/guardians understand the risks posed to teenagers when online, listen to what teenagers want and need from their parents to help them manage these experiences and some tips to keep communication online and offline working well for everyone.

Admission Form/Policy 2023/24 now available

The Application Form, approved Admission Policy and Admissions Notice for 1st Year 2023/24 is now published and available on our Admissions Page.
Please read our Admission Policy and Admission Notice carefully before completing the Application form for 1st Year 2023/23. Forms should be completed and returned to the front office and you will be issued with a receipt. Please keep this receipt safely.

5th class and 6th class pupils and their parents are invited to our Open Day on Tuesday 4th October from 2.45pm-4.45pm.

Acting Deputy Principal Appointment

Congratulations to Kevin McGowan who was appointed to the role of Acting Deputy Principal on 27th September 2022. Mr McGowan has been a teacher of Metalwork, Engineering and Technology in Lucan Community College since 1994. He has held the role of ICT/Digital Coordinator for 21 years and more recently as Punctuality Officer also. He has spear-headed school improvement in the area of ICT introducing additional computer rooms and mobile student devices as well as teacher laptops. His leadership, along with a team of digital teacher leaders, was crucial during the period of remote learning in recent years when support was ongoing and essential for students and teachers. He will be a wonderful addition to the senior leadership and management team.

School Caretaker

Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB) invite applications for the following Full Time Caretaker position in

  • Lucan Community College, Esker Drive, Lucan, Co. Dublin

A panel may be formed from which future similar vacancies may be filled; such a panel will remain active for a maximum period of 6 months.

The Caretaker shall provide an efficient and effective range of caretaking, cleaning/maintenance and security service. He/she will be flexible with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

All appointments are to DDLETB and the successful candidates will be assigned in the first instance to the schools above.

School Closure – Storm Barra

The Department of Education has instructed us to close Lucan Community College tomorrow, Tuesday 7th December 2021. All planned student work and tests and other school activities will be rescheduled. For safety reasons the building will remain closed.
Text messages have also been sent to staff and parents. TEAMS messages have been sent to students.

Lucan Community College’s patron body, Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLETB), has selected our school to be part of a new Patrons’ Framework on Ethos.

Lucan Community College are through to the U16 football final after a resounding 3-18 to 0-12 points win against Scoil Chaitriona from Mobhi Road. Lucan CC will play Colaiste Eanna from Rathfarnham. Congrats to the squad and their management Mr Callaghan and Mr McGowan. @LccAssoc
