Senior Development Cup Rugby
Lucan CC had an impressive win against Portmarnock Community School 37-7. The team played as a unit and were very aggressive in the break-down scoring 7 tries to 1. Man of the match was Eric Greene. This is following on from their impressive win against Castleknock Community College last week. Team mentors are Mr Byrne and Mr Morrissey. This is the furthest that a rugby team from Lucan CC has reached in this competition. Best of luck in the next round lads!
Arts Week
Our annual arts week was a wonderful success with students participating in a wide range of workshops and activities throughout the week. The student talent show on Monday night showcased our wonderfully musical and artistic students and was expertly and uniquely compered by Deven O’Kearney. Wednesday was our Halloween themed dress-up day – hope not too many Lucanians were traumatized by the ghoulish costumes! We ended with a sponsored ice-bucket challenge with students, teachers and principal braving a soaking in order to raise money for arts week and for Pieta house. Well done to all for your participation and to our Arts week team for organizing events.
Reading Week
Silence fell around LCC at 12.35 every day during Reading Week while students and teachers discovered the pleasure of immersing yourself in a good book. Good luck to all who entered our Halloween poetry competition and well done to those who received certificates for engaging in the Bookworm Summer reading club. Thanks to our English department and literacy team.
