Lucan CC triumph in epic quarter final clash

Lucan CC 2-2 CP Setanta AET: Lucan CC win 4-3 on penalties.

Lucan CC had a dramatic victory on penalties yesterday, Monday December 19th, in difficult conditions in Lucan in the Under 19 Boys Dublin West Quarter Final.

First half goals from Joseph Kellett and Alex Akinrintoyo had put Lucan 2-1 at HT but Setanta equalised in the second half to bring the game to extra time.

There were no further goals in extra time, and it was down to the dreaded penalty shootout. Adam Brophy was the hero for Lucan saving two spot kicks while Kevin Hegarty coolly slotted home the winning penalty.

Lucan CC move on to face CCL in a local derby in the semi-final after Christmas.
