Students sparkle in Annual Christmas Concert

We are officially in festive mode as we revel in the amazing talent on show in our annual Christmas Concert on Wednesday 19th of December.  The Christmas Concert has rightly become a firm highlight of the school calendar and this year certainly did not disappoint. The magical event featured the pure beauty of the best of student talent mixed with festive musical fare.

Particular highlights on the night included the full school choir singing of O Come Emmanuel with Jessica Essien performing the solo Mary did you know. Darragh O’Gorman, Jamila Khan and Isabelle Hughes almost brought the house down with their stirring version of O Holy Night. The traditional instruments roared into life as they accompanied Declan Fahy dancing on We Three Kings. The Christmas spirit was truly present during Oisin O’Sullivan’s reading of The Truce accompanied by a haunting choral performance in both German and English of Silent Night/Stille Nacht. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Sarah Murphy was brought to life with an incredible interpretative dance by the talented Sheik Bah. The night was finally rounded off in style with Olivia Walsh and Patrick Quinn’s version of Fairytale of New York again accompanied by orchestra, traditional band and full choir as a tour de force of musical talent.

All through the evening’s performance the full Lucan CC school choir sang out each one of their festive numbers with passion and yuletide energy. In truth every single performance sparkled. Thanks to Ms Conway and every teacher involved in the planning and delivery of the concert for making the night such a special occasion.
