Special Parents Association Meeting on raising teenagers with John Lonergan this Tuesday November 7th

Lucan Community College’s Parents Association special meeting tomorrow evening will feature John Lonergan, the former Prisoner Governor of Mountjoy for 24 years and current author and motivational speaker, as their guest speaker.

The John Lonergan talk was unfortunately cancelled last month due to Storm Ophelia and we are delighted that we could rearrange this new date with John.

This special Parents Association meeting, focusing on the challenges of raising teenagers, will take place in Lucan Community College on Tuesday 7th November at 7.30pm. All parents are invited to attend and we are sure there will be massive demand for this exciting event so please come on time to guarantee your seat.

John Lonergan will be speaking about parenting from his own experiences. These experiences had led John to recently publishing a book on the topic; Parenting: Raising Your Child in Ireland Today.

At the Parents Association meeting John Lonergan will also speak about his life, his job as Prisoner Governor in the country’s toughest prison as well as the challenges of parenting in modern Ireland.

If you have not yet attended a Parents Association event, please make this your first meeting as it promises to be both informative and entertaining.

All parents and members of the wider school community are warmly welcomes to this Parents Association event and we hope to see you there on the night.

We are delighted to announce the winners of our Reading Week Poster Competition for 2023. The standard of talent and creativity was outstanding. Well done to everyone who entered a poster. The overall winners are Ellen Birnie (Junior) and Naoise Murphy (Senior). Congratulations!

Our Second Years are thoroughly enjoying their trip to Barcelona! Thanks to Ms McKelvey and the team of teachers who have travelled with over 140 second year students to give them this fantastic opportunity. @ddletb @LccAssoc

Ryan Lally from Grá Pizza ran a great workshop today on pizza making as part of a wellbeing promotion, and also talked about setting up your own business and all about buying good Irish ingredients. Staff and students were delighted with the pizzas! #wellbeing #buyIrish @ddletb
