Open Evening

Our recent open evening was a huge success. There was a very large attendance of primary school students and their parents who were very impressed by the school. All subjects departments made a great effort to provide those in attendance with a flavour of the various activities which take place. Well done and thanks to our current students who helped out with the preparations, demonstrations, and tours of the school. Also thanks to the members of the parents’ association who provided refreshments on the evening.

Hurling

Our senior hurling team gave a great battling performance to edge out Hartstown CS by two points in their semi-final clash. The final score was 0-12 to 1-7. Best players on the day were Luke Finnerty, Paul Claffey, Rory Stapleton, Alan Murphy, Charlie Keher and man of the match Ben Mullins.

Rugby

Well done to our senior rugby team who had an excellent win over Castleknock CC. The final score 0f 24-15 reflected a great win, but we always had a slight upper hand. Best on the day were Thomas Mortell (who scored 14 points), Alex Tierney, Aaron Binu, Ethan Ntembenya, Oisin Smyth, Keith Devoy, and man of the match John McMurray.

Girls Soccer

Well done to our girl’s soccer team who had 2-1 win over Loreto, Crumlin. Best players were Zara Lawless, Caitlin Maguire and Emma Fallon.

Maths Week

Our Maths teachers and students are busy recently with activities as part of Maths week. Many students and teachers competed in the Mangahigh Maths challenge. There was also a poster competition for junior cycle students.
Arts Week Talent show: Our annual Arts Week was a great success. Activities included workshops for all 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th year students, dress-up day, an all-school table quiz and a student talent show. The talent show took place on Tuesday 25th at 7pm in the school hall and there was a great attendance. Thanks to Mr Duffy, Mr O’Connor and all who helped to ensure that it was a great success.

We are delighted to announce the winners of our Reading Week Poster Competition for 2023. The standard of talent and creativity was outstanding. Well done to everyone who entered a poster. The overall winners are Ellen Birnie (Junior) and Naoise Murphy (Senior). Congratulations!

Our Second Years are thoroughly enjoying their trip to Barcelona! Thanks to Ms McKelvey and the team of teachers who have travelled with over 140 second year students to give them this fantastic opportunity. @ddletb @LccAssoc
