Congratulations to the Minor Girls (Under 15) soccer team who made a huge achievement this year in reaching the Leinster Semi-Final. They were magnificent throughout the game last Friday and were very close to getting to extra time before St Laurences’ scored quick goals in injury time at a frantic end to the match. The girls eventually lost the game 4-1 but gave everything on the pitch against last years finalists and an older team. Well done to all the team and squad who were amazing throughout the year, never missing a training session and always positive and polite. Particular mention to Lucy Varney who was player of the game in the semi-final with a string of fine saves that kept Lucan in the game throughout. Team coach Mr Brett envisages great things ahead for the team next year with nearly all eligible to play again in the same competition – so watch this space.
