Congratulations to our girls 2nd year basketball team who were awarded their Gold medals and trophy for the East Region Junior D competition after a spectacular win 34-29 over Old Bawn Community School in the final on Wednesday. The team can be very proud of their victory and Mr Phelan their coach said that every player gave their best performance on the day.
Our 1st year girls were presented with silver medals for finishing runners-up in their competition against a strong Old Bawn side. They fought for possession until the final whistle and demonstrated solid teamwork throughout.
Particular thanks also to the strong team of supporters who travelled to the match with Ms Lamont and to TY assistant coaches Eimear Bowler and Aisling Fahey who worked with both girls teams and Eva Minihane and Sarah Walsh who coached our boys team throughout the year.
