learningWe, in Lucan Community College, aim to engage our students in the best and most appropriate educational experience possible . With this in mind, we have developed homework and study policies for junior cycle, have introduced study and motivation skills seminars at appropriate stages and we hold parent/student information evenings on homework, study and the processes of learning.  Interesting and appropriate teaching, learning and assessment strategies are used in individual classes, discussed and shared at subject department meetings We, in Lucan Community College, aim to provide our students with the best and most appropriate education that they can receive. Interesting and appropriate teaching, learning and assessment strategies are used in individual classes, planned and prepared in subject department meetings and discussed and shared in staff meetings.

We have high expectations for our students and encourage students to follow higher level courses where possible. Students are expected to actively engage in learning in the classroom, to try their best at assigned class work and homework, to ask questions appropriate to the learning experience and to study and revise in preparation for assessment.

Ever mindful of the needs of our students we have a strong pastoral care, guidance and learning support programme so that students are supported in their learning and assisted in their development from child to young adult.
