Guidance

Our guidance department is an important part of our pastoral care structure. Ms. O’Gara and Ms McManus advise students in relation to standardised test results, CAO applications, interview and CV preparation and career options.

Making an appointment with the guidance counsellor
A student can request an appointment with the guidance counsellor through their tutor, year head, a member of staff or make an appointment directly themselves. A parent can also contact the guidance counsellor to make an appointment for their son or daughter.

Emotional Well-being Week
Each year the guidance team organises a special week where all members of the college focus on our well-being. Students read hints and tips for well-being over the intercom and students participate in poster competitions. In 2014 the theme was Walk in Our Shoes and we held an ‘odd-shoe’ day with monies raised going to St. Patrick’s Mental Health Services. We include here a selection of the Well-being Week posters.
