Happy Christmas from all in Lucan Community College

As the school term comes to an end we want to take this opportunity to wish all of our school community a very happy Christmas and very best wishes for 2019.

Christmas can be a happy time with families and friends gathering together. It can also be a challenging time for some.

Please take care of those around you at this time. If you are aware of someone who may need someone to talk to or may need some professional support don’t forget that the following agencies remain open for most of the school holiday period:

Childline: 1800 666666 (24 hours a day/365 days a year) or free text 50101

Samaritans: 1800 116 123 (available 24 hours a day/365 days a year)

Pieta House: 1800 247 247 (available 24 hours a day/365 days a year) or text HELP to 51444

Lucan Gardai 016280222 can also offer advice at this time

Any immediate concerns regarding an individual’s health should be referred to an Accident & Emergency Department.

Some good advice for parents talking to children include:

  • Listen – allow conversation to take place;
  • Connect – encourage your son/daughter to connected with you as a family and with their friends.
  • Have a great holiday, enjoy everything that Christmas brings but remember look after yourself and each other. See you in 2019 for a new school term!

    Lucan Community College’s Parents Association will host their first meeting of the new school year on the 5th September at 7.30pm. The Parents Association would love to use the occasion of this first meeting to welcome new members, whether your children are in the college already or if they are new students to us.

    The Parents Association is great way to get involved in school life, get to know other parents and contribute in a voluntary capacity. As always, the College would like to thank the Parents Association for their continued work over the years and look forward to working closely with them again over the coming year.
