Congratulations to all students who completed their Junior Certificate examinations recently. Students will now be busy organising work experience and voluntary community work. All of the necessary forms are now available on our school website and can be downloaded here. There are also useful contact suggestions for seeking voluntary work in your community. Community work takes place on Thursday afternoons from 2-4pm when students are free from class or at another mutually suitable time outside of school hours. Work experience session one runs from Monday 17th October to Friday 28th October and session two runs from Monday 23rd January to Friday 3rd February. The college is very thankful to the local businesses and agencies that give our students an opportunity to experience the workplace and to contribute to their community.
Congratulations to the Amnesty Group who were presented with the best school group award at the Amnesty National Conference recently. This was made extra special as the award was presented by Eva Schloss (Anne Frank’s step-sister) who was at the conference to talk about women refugees and Europe’s response to refugee crises both past and present. This award recognizes the hard work and commitment of the students in the group. This group raised awareness and took action on human rights issues over the last year. This award is very well deserved. Teacher leaders Ms McCarthy and Ms O’Donoghue are very proud of the students. Well done to all!
