Final rehearsals are underway for the 2016 Transition Year Musical – The Addams Family. Under the leadership of Directors Mr Duffy and Ms Conway over 60 students have been singing, dancing and acting throughout the year to prepare for the three night performance from Tuesday 10th May to Thursday 12th May. As usual we invite all members of the school and local communities to support the students on these evenings. Tickets will shortly be on sale through the school. We can promise you a real treat at this imaginative and entertaining show.

Californian researchers visit the college

Lucan Community College played host to two researchers from South California Doctoral Programme on Thursday 21st April. Mathew Holton and Owen Crosby, Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District, visited our Science teachers and students to research the effect of student participation in science projects such as BT Young Scientist and Scifest on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths education. They observed several classes, interviewed teachers and students and arranged completion of research questionnaires as part of their visit. Our thanks to teachers Audrey Byrne, Aisling Quirke and all of the science department for facilitating the visit. We wish Mat and Owen and the other participants in the programme every success with their research.
