Molly O’Toole RIP

Staff, students, parents and our wider school community were saddened to learn of the death of Molly O’Toole, 2nd year student. Students and staff formed a guard of honour on the morning of her funeral and a service of reflection was held in the school. The school choir were honoured to be asked to provide the music for the funeral mass along with the Scoil Mhuire music group. Our thoughts are with Molly’s parents Niamh and Kevin and her brothers Jack (6th year), Ben (1st year) and Alex (Scoil Mhuire) and her grandparents at this time and well as her relations and friends. While there is a deep sadness felt by the school community at the loss of Molly we cherish the many happy memories we share of Molly’s involvement in our school in particular her academic success, her footballing skills and her membership of the book club and Junior Debating Team. The words of fellow students and teachers in the Book of Memories in our Guidance Room speak volumes. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Lucan Community College’s Parents Association will host their first meeting of the new school year on the 5th September at 7.30pm. The Parents Association would love to use the occasion of this first meeting to welcome new members, whether your children are in the college already or if they are new students to us.

The Parents Association is great way to get involved in school life, get to know other parents and contribute in a voluntary capacity. As always, the College would like to thank the Parents Association for their continued work over the years and look forward to working closely with them again over the coming year.
