Events coming up at LCC

Senior Rugby Cup Quarter-Final success

Senior rugby team Lucan CC’s Senior Rugby team defeated Rathoat Community School in the Quarter-final of the ‘A’ Senior Cup. A tense first half in which LCC spent most of the time defending ended 0-0. Our boys really opened up the game with a great kick-chase game and pinned the Rathoat players under their own posts for most of the second half. Tries by John McMurray, Cian Thuillier and James Carron were converted by Daniel Forde. David Solanke was ‘Man of the Match’.SONY DSC

Athletics – Dublin Cross Country competition

Congratulations to our 14 students who participated in the Dublin Cross-Country race in Lucan Harriers grounds on Wednesday 19th November. The biggest ever number of participants in this event raced through the wind, rain and muck and the students from Lucan CC performed extremely well. Congratulations to students Yetunde Gbenle, Aine Burke, Nicole Smyth, and Eoin O’Sullivan who won medals or were very highly placed in their races.

Toilet Refurbishment Begins

Noises and dust are emanating from our senior toilets as work finally begins on our toilet refurbishment. Work will move from one toilet block to another over the next few months until we have brand new and up to date facilities in place for staff and students. The patience of the school community is much appreciated as the work is in progress.

Lucan Community College’s Parents Association will host their first meeting of the new school year on the 5th September at 7.30pm. The Parents Association would love to use the occasion of this first meeting to welcome new members, whether your children are in the college already or if they are new students to us.

The Parents Association is great way to get involved in school life, get to know other parents and contribute in a voluntary capacity. As always, the College would like to thank the Parents Association for their continued work over the years and look forward to working closely with them again over the coming year.
