Dail trip

The students from 2nd Year class Callan enjoyed their recent trip to Dail Eireann. The trip was organised by their tutor and CSPE teacher, Ms Mellett. The group was given a tour of the building and visited the Dail chamber while proceedings were taking place. They were welcomed by local TD and Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald.

Mid-term break

We wish all our teachers, parents and students a very enjoyable mid-term break. Our German Exchange group have already arrived in Munchberg and they will return next week. Mr Grimes, the 2nd year tutors and 63 of our 2nd year students are heading to Rome for 4 days during the break. They are looking forward to seeing all the wonderful sites of Rome and will also visit Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. We hope they have a great trip.

Lucan Community College’s Parents Association will host their first meeting of the new school year on the 5th September at 7.30pm. The Parents Association would love to use the occasion of this first meeting to welcome new members, whether your children are in the college already or if they are new students to us.

The Parents Association is great way to get involved in school life, get to know other parents and contribute in a voluntary capacity. As always, the College would like to thank the Parents Association for their continued work over the years and look forward to working closely with them again over the coming year.
