Leaving Certificate Results 2016

Best of luck to our 2016 graduates as they prepare to receive their results on Wednesday 17th August. The school will begin to distribute results from 10am. Graduates can also access results via the Internet (www.examinations.ie) using the PIN number provided to them during your exams. Our guidance teachers will be available to help with any queries.

Graduates, please remember that if you are disappointed with a result you can apply to view your script by fully completing personalised form enclosed with your results and returning it to the school before Tuesday 23rd August. The college will reply to let you know what viewing slot that you have been assigned. Appeal forms will be available at the college during and after the viewing of scripts sessions should you wish to appeal a result.

If you do not achieve the ‘points’ total or grades that you were hoping for, there are many different paths you can follow to reach your desired goal. The important thing today is to appropriately celebrate your effort over the years and to reflect on your future path calmly and rationally over the next few days.

Supports available to students at this time include:

  • Consult the Candidate Information Booklet provided by the SEC at the college (spare copies available in front hall)
  • Guidance counsellors at the school
  • National Parents’ Council (Post Primary) Helpline Phone Number: 1800 265 165 Email: helpline@npcpp.ie
  • Irish Time Helpdesk (irishtimes.com/education)

Frequently asked questions

How to appeal: Compete an appeal application form after you view your script. Follow the instructions given to pay your €40 appeal fee per subject at a bank. This will be refunded through the school if your result is upgraded.

Return of practical work: The SEC insists that schools retain all exam material until the appeal process is complete, usually mid-October. This applies whether or not you personally submit an appeal or not.
